Future Construction: Phase III

Plans for Casa Luz Phase III include the construction of two additional four unit apartments which will provide housing up to for 16 more Casa Luz Families. It is hoped that this will be a supportive community in which the mothers can confidently raise their children and break the cycle of poverty and abuse.

Casa Luz is currently working with a group of graduate students from St. Edward's University in Austin, Texas. The students are creating a business plan to help Casa Luz raise funds, better support their families, and increase awareness of the organization. St. Edward's and Casa Luz are excited about the partnership and look forward to building a lasting friendship!

Who We Help

Meet a few of the women who are finding support at Casa Luz:

  • Mayela
    I came to Casa Luz because I was pregnant; because I did not have family support and I was doing drugs, drinking and was involved in prostitution. I realized I needed to give my child a safe environment and that is why I am here in Casa Luz.

  • Margarita
    I ran away from home because my mother physically mistreated me and I belonged to a dysfunctional family. I had to support myself through prostitution. Furthermore, my son is ill; he suffers from epilepsy idiopathic and requires constant medical care.

  • Tatiana
    I came to Casa Luz because I was looking for a safe place for my daughter and myself. I was desperately looking for protection, peace of mind and professional psychological care.
